Responsibilities:

Slide is looking for a mid-level Gray Box QA Engineer who wants to test with the best. This position demands superior communication skills, a fast-learner of how things work, and the obsession to deliver products quickly while maintaining quality. In this position, you will:

  • Test fun and engaging applications that are used by millions of people everyday
  • Design, document, and exercise test cases in a fast pace, rapidly changing environment
  • Conduct unit, integration, regression, ad-hoc, and edge-case testing as part our daily release cycle
  • Work closely with all parties involved in the development cycle, while maintaining a positive relationship that demands respect for quality
  • Work onsite at our office in SOMA San Francisco (Hours are very flexible but some weekends / evenings are expected)

Requirements:

  • Active user on Facebook, mySpace, Hi5, or other social networking platform, experience using Slide's products a plus
  • 1-4 years of experience doing gray box testing for high traffic web applications
  • Excel as a _full-time employee_ in a fast pace, small team, start-up environment
  • Strong understanding of QA methodology and the Software Development Life-cycle
  • Vast knowledge of browsers and testing on various platforms
  • Working knowledge of Unix and MySQL, familiar with HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • Proficient in filing bugs and familiar with SVN/GIT (any version control system)
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills to work with an energetic team
  • Ability to have fun, juggle priorities, and produce results in a fast pace, rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical fields

Bonus:

  • Python, Perl, Flash coding experience
  • Experience testing consumer web applications (vs enterprise applications or SAAS)
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or Windmill
